Application and forms - Use of a representative or Power of attorney
If you want someone to act on your behalf, the authorized person will be able to:
Contact us on your behalf,
Get information on the status of your application, and
Update your information.
A representative can be paid or unpaid:
To check if your paid representative is authorized, visit our website.
If your representative is not paid, they can be a:
friend,
family member,
person in a religious or non-governmental organization,
etc.
To authorize a representative, please send the Use of a Representative (IMM 5476) form or the Power of Attorney with your application.
If your application was already submitted, please fill out the IRCC Web form available on our website and upload the IMM 5476 form or Power of Attorney.
Please allow five business days for the authorization to be added in your file. Due to the impacts of COVID-19 however, it may take us longer. We thank you for your patience.
