Since we are settled in Canada there were some reasons for it. For me particularly it was seeking for freedom. Therefore I totally ok when someone from Ukraine speaks with me in Ukrainian language even though I don’t know this language I found out that I can understand up to 70% of conversation. If I struggle I switch to English. My mothers tongue is russian, I also appreciate when I can speak my mothers tongue with Ukrainians in this dark times.
