Join us for a charity walk of honor in memory of the Fallen Ukrainian Heroes or in support of those who continue the fight for freedom!
It's important to acknowledge and remember the sacrifices made by individuals who have defended Ukraine, particularly in the context of the Russian invasion. Celebrating Defenders Day on October 14th is a way to honor those who have been injured or killed while defending their country.
Participating in events like the Walk of Honor in different cities across British Columbia on October 14th is a meaningful way to show support for Ukraine and its ongoing efforts to maintain global peace and security. It allows people to come together, pay their respects to the fallen heroes, show solidarity with those who continue to fight for their country, and raise funds to suppor those who are suffering from the war atrocities.
The vast majority of Ukrainians – 78% – have close relatives or friends who were injured or killed due to the Russian invasion. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.
Remembering the human cost of conflicts and appreciating the resilience of those involved in the defense of their nation is a valuable way to promote understanding and compassion in the face of such challenging circumstances.
By registering for The Walk of Honor, you will be able to add a personal touch to the event by commemorating your fellow Ukrainian brothers and sisters who gave their precious lives for freedom or supporting those who are fighting and volunteering on different fronts.
The walk in every city is between 2 and 3 km. The meeting place and the route will be shared prior to the event. Please choose your t-shirt size and help us to promote the event by recording a brief video message in English or Ukrainian with the important message:
I will join The Walk of Honor in memory of .... (add names) or in support of.... (add names of the Ukrainian soldier, a widow, who lost a husband, a volunteer, a military doctor, etc.)
