At the time an Alberta Opportunity Stream application is submitted and at the time of assessment, candidates must be working in an eligible occupation in Alberta. Occupation requirements also apply to work experience and job offers. Please review the work experience criteria: www.alberta.ca/aaip-alberta-opportunity-stream-eligibility.aspx#jumplinks-4 and eligible job offer criteria: www.alberta.ca/aaip-alberta-opportunity-stream-eligibility.aspx#jumplinks-5 on the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program website for more details.
Most occupations under National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill levels 0, A, B, C and D are eligible under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program.
Please note, occupations posted to the Alberta Opportunity Stream Ineligible Occupations list have a high volume of submissions across all AAIP streams. Therefore Individuals working in those occupations at the time of application and assessment are not eligible to apply for or be nominated via the Alberta Opportunity Stream. The list can be accessed here: www.alberta.ca/aaip-alberta-opportunity-stream-eligibility.aspx#jumplinks-1
If you are a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) holder, your occupation must also be related to your field of study in Alberta.
