I am writing to express my disappointment with the IT issues that plagued the Alberta Opportunity Stream application system on June 11, 2024.
My family and I spent a significant amount of time attempting to submit an application, but encountered several problems, including inaccessible buttons, malfunctioning drop-down menus, and error messages.
We were expecting slow feedback from the program web page assuming the demand for the service, however, the site itself encountered numerous issues which made the application process impossible to accomplish:
- Endless errors from the web page like 503 and 404, and a lots of server downs.
- Buttons NEXT or SUBMIT were not accessible and appeared only after 10-15 reboots of the web page.
- The drop-down menu didn't give options to choose from.
- The web page returned us to the first page of the application numerous times.
We understand the program's popularity, but the system's unreliability was frustrating, especially considering Alberta's reputation for efficiency. We believe a fair and efficient system is essential for attracting skilled immigrants like ourselves.
We kindly request that you address these IT problems to ensure a functional system for future applicants.
