while we will not be able to directly facilitate employment, a few points below:
• Emergency Supports – glad to hear that Canadian Red Cross has been engaged with, if there are any continued obstacles there…please let me know so we can identify path forward and pipeline accordingly; provincial supports can be assessed on a case-by-case basis and should be engaged with
• Immigration (Permit) – if this evacuee is on a closed work permit, they can submit a request to move to an open work permit as a result of the displacement…this should be done through the ordinary process; additionally, they should flag their permit change using the IRCC Crisis portal; all of these fall within federal jurisdiction
• Immigration (Pathway) – if this individual continues to work within the hospitality and tourism sector, it may make sense for the employee and employer to consider the Tourism and Hospitality Stream, which would allocate additional points to their profile via the provincial nominee program
• Workforce Development – depending on the TEER category of the past job, there may be particulars that may need to be considered
