    I’m from New England, and I’ve never heard the “sh” sound. I’ve always said “gross-ree.”

    у меня любой пре-аппрувал от танжерина сопровождается хард чеком... А вообще, кредитку сами предложили (причем кажется на 15k) после того как я завела там чекинг и за несколько месяцев даже не перечислила деньги

    As a learner, I'd just pronounce it without the "sh", but be aware you will hear it that way. You will also hear it as both a two and three syllable word, but you should use the two syllable pronunciation.

    вот "лернер" и второй человек кто говорит про ш в этом треде тоже из снг

    hoipolloi 3:39 AM on 10/6/2008 I pronounce it with the “s” sound as well, but all my Vermont friends pronounce it with the “sh” sound. Maybe it’s a New England thing?

    Southern_bella 7:17 AM on 10/6/2008 hmmm… after saying it aloud both ways, I’m a “groSHery” kinda gal.

    hmlicata 8:56 AM on 10/6/2008 I’m from Chicago, and I’ve never heard anyone call it the grossery. Everyone I know calls it the groshery store. So at the very least, it’s not just an East Coast thing.

    lemons 9:44 AM on 10/6/2008 “Sh” in eastern Missouri, for the most part. But you have to listen very carefully to hear it unless the person speaks fairly slowly.

    David Jan 26, 2015 The 'sh' sound is the most common form spoken in my region, but I really feel that the difference is a regional thing. In some places it's with a 's' sound, others with a 'sh'. It doesn't really matter, but when pronounced with the 's' sound, the word's 3 syllable nature tends to come out rather than a 2 syllable sounding word using the 'sh;
