365 days of war Here are a few words, but in fact, they mean an eternity. For Ukrainians, this year has become a huge challenge, a life lesson for which we are still paying a terrible price. But at the same time, this year has made Ukraine as strong and original as never before. During these 365 days, we made a fantastic leap in the evolution of Ukrainian consciousness, for sure a piece of the heart of every Ukrainian will remain under the debris in Mariupol and Dnipro, on the streets of Bucha and other cities. 365 days, like one long terrible nightmare that has no end… But despite the pain and fear, despite the darkness and cold, Ukraine resists. It stands and becomes the shield of the entire civilized world in the fight against evil. Thanks to everyone who brings our victory closer - to military, volunteers, doctors, employees of the State Emergency Services, those who continue to work and pay taxes — to make their contribution to the nearest victory. Therefore, we ask everyone to come and support us on February 26th at 3 p.m. at the Art Gallery In order to show our strength and power! Для українців цей рік став великим випробуванням, уроком життя, за який ми й досі платимо страшну ціну. Але разом із тим, цей рік зробив Україну настільки сильною та самобутньою, як ніколи до цього. За ці 365 днів ми зробили фантастичний стрибок в еволюції української свідомості, звісно частинка серця кожного українця лишиться під завалами у Маріуполі та Дніпрі, на вулицях Бучі та інших містах 365 днів, як один довгий страшний сон, який ніяк не закінчиться… Але попри біль і страх, незважаючи на темряву й холод, Україна вистояла. Вистояла і стала щитом усього цивілізованого світу у боротьбі зі злом. Завдяки кожному, хто наближає перемогу — військовим, волонтерам, лікарям, працівникам ДСНС, тим хто продовжує працювати і платити податки — робить свій вклад у майбутню перемогу. Dear Community Partners, We are excited to introduce a new tuition-free training program this year. YMCA BC's Youth Employment Bootcamp program, in partnership with Western Community College (WCC), is offering the Applied Skills Training Program for youth ages 16-30 to gain the skills and knowledge needed to find work in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry. This program features 8-week of tuition-free training and virtual classes. Offering three pathways to success: Terrific Tourism - An introduction to BC Tourism Industry, Great BC - Introduction to BC Hospitality Industry, and Maintain BC - Introduction to Tourism and Hospitality Property Management. Explore all the program details and start dates here. Terrific Tourism- Introduction to BC Tourism Industry (8 weeks) February 6, 2023 to March 31, 2023 This eight-week program is specifically designed to introduce participants to the ever-changing tourism industry and will be provided an overview of Tourism in BC along with skills required to work safely in the industry. Great BC- Introduction to BC Hospitality Industry (8 weeks) February 20, 2023 to April 14, 2023 Hospitality in BC continues to be a dynamic growth industry taking a significant portion of the $22 billion tourism segment. This eight-week program will provide participants with an overview of the accommodations sector and learn about Hotel Management and Food and Beverage Management among others. Maintain BC- Introduction to Tourism and Hospitality Property Management (8 weeks) March 6, 2023 to April 28, 2023 Every tourist facility requires professionals who know how to maintain the facilities to enhance customer experience. This eight-week program will provide participants with an overview of the skills required to work safely within building maintenance and facility management. Candidates must be between the ages of 16 and 30 (inclusive), a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Confirmed Refugee, currently unemployed (or working fewer than 20 hours/week), and not currently a full-time student or returning to full-time school in the next few months to be eligible for this tuition-free training. If interested, candidates can apply by completing a short application form here, and a YMCA BC Employment Coach will follow up with them about the next steps. Seats are filling up fast, so don’t delay! Support your youth clients to start an exciting career in a booming industry with YMCA BC and Western Community College’s Applied Skills Training Program.
