Багато мешканців Онтаріо покидають провінцію через високі ціни на нерухомість та переїжджають до Альберти, Нової Шотландії, Нью Брансвіка та інших провінцій, де вартість життя та житла не такі дорогі.
Q: Why are they all leaving? A: Because they can’t afford a house in Ontario
Out-migration from Ontario skyrocketed in 2022, fuelled by the high cost of housing. Alberta, Nova Scotia have run campaigns to lure Ontarians.
Chinmay Wakodkar and his family will be heading west to Calgary to live in the 1,750-square-foot townhouse they’re buying for about $500,000. Kelly Whalen and her partner went east to New Brunswick where they bought a small house on three acres for $165,000 in 2021. Many, many, many others Ontarians are leaving the province, too.
