Title : Lead Backend Java Developer Location (Mandatory work from office): Vancouver, Canada. Exact Location Candidate will be working at 601 W Broadway, Vancouver, BC V5Z 4C2, Canada Contract Experience Level Required : Lead Backend Engineer (6-9 years) Job Description: Responsible for software development alongside other engineers and developers, collaborating on the various layers. • Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to design and launch new features. • Focus on the quality delivery for product releases • Write well designed, testable, efficient code using best practices. • Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of applications. • Integrate data from various back-end services and databases. • Work together with cross-functional teams to define, design, and develop new features. • Troubleshoot and fix software defects. • Create and maintain unit tests. • Participate in Agile sprint planning, daily stand up, demo, and retrospective meetings. Required Skillset(s): • Strong proficiency with Java libraries implementing medium to large scale enterprise applications. • Strong proficiency building scalable solutions with Apache Tomcat server. • Experience building scalable solutions leveraging common integration patterns: MVC (Model-View-Controller), Repository, SOAP or RESTful web services. • Experience integrating front-end with Microsoft SQL Server using middleware services. • Experience building Rest APIs & security best practices. • Experience with Git and Jenkins. • Experience implementing automated unit testing. • Ability to interface with all groups and levels to solve problems and create solutions. • High level of verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work in an Agile delivery team. Preferred Skillset(s): • Engineer with experience on Medical device integration • Experience with Amazon Web Services & cloud platform technologies. • Experience developing solutions for healthcare vertical. • SUN certified Java developer.
