Lascaris is a consistent supporter of the russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and of the russian war against Ukraine which started in 2014. This spring Lascaris has violated Canadian sanctions in place (www.international.gc.ca/world-monde/international_relations-relations_internationales/sanctions/ukraine.aspx?lang=eng), specifically those related to the receipt of tourism services on the territories of the occupied Crimea and other parts of Ukraine. During his supposedly "self-funded" trip he had met with multiple people associated with the regime of vladimir putin, at least one representative of a private military Wagner, considered to be terrorist in a number of jurisdictions around the world, russian state-owned media and organizations. Throughout the years he has been whitewashing actions of russian criminal regime, incl. genocidal war crimes in Ukraine, by being one of its loudest mouthpieces on social media in Canada and in russian state-owned media.
